A Cute Weekend Outing in South Pasadena
A few weekends ago, I forwent my usual Saturday hot yoga class—where are my 26 & 2 babes at?—to spend a lazy morning strolling around South Pasadena. First, we popped into PROSPECT bookstore for a book drive that Seen Library was organizing. I dropped off a few copies of The Manhattan Mishap and ended up grabbing a vintage California Cookbook from the LA Times. As of right now, it’s on display on our kitchen shelves, but I’m sure I’ll make something from it one day.
Then, we popped into Berry Opera for a few (too many) pastries and take-out coffees. The twins loved the Easter-themed sugar cookies and my husband was all about the matcha cake. When we were leaving, this woman was walking past the door and stopped us to say:
“You two look like the coolest mom and dad ever. You have no business walking around South Pasadena looking that fly!”
It was the best compliment ever. We were smiling all the way down the block. Cheesy, I know. But as busy parents, we take those compliments where we can get them. Lastly, we hit up The Dinosaur Farm toy store to buy the boys balloons. Yes, they have enough toys at home but what they’re really obsessed with are balloons. Fine by me because they were only $0.50 a pop. Literally.
